Heres some high quality stuff I really like.
Heres a few images from around the net. I am learning to work in ivory and tooth and horn doing scrimshaw. What is scrimshaw? Well nobody is sure where the word came from but some seem to think it loosely translates to a "waste of time" coming from ancient sefarers.

I have talked with Max Corey for years on the net, someday I would that I could meet him in person. He may well be one of the best there is period. I am told that Max has left the great white north and has come down to the lower 48 and is restoring some old Ford Tri-motor planes in the midwest.

UH1-N by Max Corey in ivory.
This 412 is crafted in white and orange fossilized walrus ivory and is about six inches long.
The 412 is a modification of the original Bell 205 "Iroquois" of Viet-Nam fame. The 212 UH1-N is a twin-engined modification of an earler model, the Bell 204 "Huey" UH1-H, and the four-bladed rotor version is the 412. The 204 is powered by a single Lycoming T-53 engine, while the 212 and 412 are powered by two Pratt and Whitney PT-6 engines. Of course, many other modifications have also been made. A real workhorse on the North Slope and all over Alaska, this model was made for one of the all-time, high-time 412 pilots, fellow Great Dane owner, and friend, George Nisson.

Cessna 172 on floats by Max Corey in ivory.
This Cessna 172 is crafted of fossilized walrus ivory, and is on Edo floats. The Skyhawk is a small, four passenger aircraft that is very common in the lower 48, but not as popular in Alaska, as the Cessna 180, 185 and 206 can carry more gear for fishing and hunting or freight for the bush.

Some of my beginners work.
Two eagle heads in Alligator tooth. One is near finished (back) and the other has just the heavy lines.
Eagle head in Gator tooth.
OK it's not a museum piece, but I am learning and getting better as time goes on. I have sold a lot of these locally for Thirty Five dollars.
I couldn't resist this !
There are few things that stir my emotions like a colassal display of pyrotechnics! In lay terms that means "NOW THIS IS A REAL CROWD PLEASER"!
